The Competitive Advantage of a Strong SaaS Founder Network

by | Jul 3, 2026

Last month, I hosted a Dallas Software Founders meetup to connect SaaS and AI founders with each other, including experienced former founders who want to help the next generation.

Despite the traffic and busy summer schedules, a great group of 30 entrepreneurs appeared at the impressive new Kiln Preston Hollow coworking space in Dallas.

There were plenty of connections made, with everyone speaking the same language.

Just founders building software products of all types who want to meet in person with other software founders.

Thanks to David Evans from Sentiero Ventures and Ichan Stall of North Texas Angel Network for speaking about how they see things changing in mid-2026 from a startup investor perspective.

These free DSF meetups are invite-only, so it’s not open to all the networking hangers-on that show up when serious software CEOs get together.

It’s software-focused. SaaS, enterprise, marketplace, fintech. Not entrepreneurs of all types speaking different languages.

It’s not about funding, or selling something, or promoting some organization.

It’s only about getting together to help software founders succeed here in Dallas. The best help founders get often comes from each other.

There is no business model for me to organize this. I know a lot of founders, and I send an invite for the next meetup. I find a space that wants to host us and speakers who want to share their deep knowledge. Happy to help.

That’s one reason why so many events and tech ecosystems struggle, and why there isn’t a software founder-focused community in Dallas right now. A community and ecosystem doesn’t have to be a business model for someone.

Founders in Dallas have asked me for years, “Where do I plug into the community of other software founders here?”

There wasn’t an answer, so I created Dallas Software Founders – DallasSoftwareFounders.com.

Get on the list to get an invite for our next event in September.

There’s a lot going on in Dallas SaaS and AI that people can see, since we’re such a big-company, non-revolutionary town.

There are 750+ software companies in Dallas right now on my Gregslist.com/Dallas list. Which is also free for everyone.

Let me know how I can help you connect to other serious software founders in Dallas.

Spread the word. We’ll easily bring together 75+ founders for our September event.

#DallasSoftwareFounders. Founders, mentors, and experts helping other crazy founders build valuable companies.
