What Founders Really Mean By “It’s Going Great!”

Me: How’s it going over there?

Software startup founder: Great!

Me: How’s it really going?

(pause)

Founder: We’re f*cked. It’s all hard.

Me: Welcome to the club. That’s why everyone isn’t doing it. Keep going.

But only always.
