This Really Happened to Me Last Week

I helped a stranger with directions on the slopes in Park City yesterday when he said, “Wait, do you have a podcast? I recognize your voice.”

It turns out it was Jeremy Clarke, one of the amazing SaaS founders I have interviewed on my Practical Founders Podcast.

Seriously, he couldn’t see my face and he recognized my voice when I was talking. I’m still surprised that actually happened.

I’m a part-time Park City resident and have been skiing here for 30 years. I help people get around the mountain all the time. Jeremy and his wife were in town for the week from California.

Jeremy created, grew, and sold his first software company, WebMerge, in a most unusual and successful way:

He grew WebMerge to $5M in revenue by himself for 6 years and sold it for $100M.

Yes, that’s right. It’s a “bootstrapped unicorn.”

You have to hear his story to believe it. Check out our podcast interview here.

He also wrote a book called “Bootstrapped to Millions: How I Built a Multi-Million-Dollar Business with No Investors or Employees.” Check it out on Amazon. It’s a great read.

Jeremy isn’t just skiing and hanging out at the beach near his house in California.

He has a new software venture called Quin, a digital relationship assistant for financial advisors, that we have discussed several times.

Great to see you, Jeremy! You do amazing things!
